Royal Ontario Museum

One of North America's largest museums (and the largest in all of Canada), the Royal Ontario Museum is a must-see for anyone visiting Toronto. It contains more than 6 million items across 40 different galleries, showcasing everything from natural hisotry to world cultures.

The ROM is conveniently located just a 15-minute walk from the Wellesley Manor Hotel.

CN Tower Toronto

A quick and easy subway ride from our hotel, the CN Tower is by far the most iconic building in the Toronto cityscape skyline. Ride to the top for a delicious dinner at the 360 revolving restaurant soaring more than 350 metres above the city, or take a more adventurous approach with the Edge Walk; not for the faint of heart, this entails strapping yourself into safety gear and walking around the outer edge of the tower’s tip, hands-free.

Locals call this neighbourhood “The Mink Mile” due to its amazing selection of high-end, haute couture designer stores (think Tiffany, Chanel, D&G, Hermes, Holt Renfrew) and world-class restaurants. This vibrant area, known formally as Yorkville, is a comfortable 15 to 20-minute walk north from our hotel, up Yonge Street to a few blocks past Bloor.

Toronto Zoo

Canada’s premier zoological centre, the Toronto Zoo is home to more than 5,000 animals from across 500 species and is one of the largest zoos in the world with more than six miles of walking trails over 710 acres. Explore seven geographical regions in both indoor and outdoor displays and exhibits, including the underwater world of the Great Barrier Reef. The zoo is located just outside of Scarborough, accessible by car or public transit.

Get Sporty: Pro Sports in TO

Toronto is home to several great Canadian professional sports teams, including the NBA’s Toronto Raptors, the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs, and the MBA’s Toronto Blue Jays. The Blue Jays play out of Roger’s Centre, while the Leafs and Raptors call Air Canada Centre home sweet home. Hockey fans might also want to check out the Hockey Hall of Fame in the financial district for a cool look at the sports history and tributes to the best players ever to hit the ice.
